Iranian Woman were allowed entering stadiums after 27 years

iranian women were allowed to enter stadiums

I wrote this as a column for Mainichi newspaper today:

 

"Open the doors of stadiums to women. Give them the best place to watch the Soccer matches."

These two sentences is a part of president Ahamdinejad"s order to the head of Iran"s sport organization that was repeated in every news announcement of Iran"s state run TV on 24th of April.

Although this sentence seems that the regime gives more freedom to women but as I pass the streets with my white-colored uniform with shorter sleeves than normal I do fear to be caught by police, but it seems that every thing is different this year. It is hot in Tehran, the capital of Iran, nowadays. People say that it is early for this weather, may be because of this police forces had started their "Islamic guidance" to young women who do not have a "proper" veiling earlier than normal, too. Proper veiling in Iran means to wear a uniform with long slave, long trousers and scarf that hide your hair completely. Women also arte not allowed to have heavy makeup.Continue
